The Living Room Partnership - Family to Family Resource Network

The Living Room Partnership is for any person or family living with the experience of disability who feels that connecting up with another either face to face or over the phone would be a help when facing a personal challenge. This could be to do with any of a huge range of scenarios e.g. accessible transport, preschool years, social welfare entitlements, educational opportunities, respite options, family support and advocacy.   The ‘Resource Partner’ with the necessary profile of lived experience listens carefully. The ‘Resource Partner’ is not paid but is supported by the Clan Beo Living Room Partnership project. They help the person figure out what is in their power to do next. It may be helpful but never a requirement for the ‘Resource Partner’ to offer their own experience, knowledge, or practical information on the challenge the person is facing. The conversation between the Living Room Partner and the person contacting them creates the breathing space they need to recover their own power to meet their personal challenge with more confidence.
